Centenary of 1916 - Western Front Last Post Ceremonies at the Australian War Memorial

This year marks 100 years since 1916's pivotal events of the First World War. These events will be the focus of international remembrance and commemorative ceremonies both in Australia and overseas, especially on the former battlefields of France and Flanders.

In July, to mark the centenary of Australia's introduction to the Western Front, the Australian War Memorial will host a number of commemorative events to mark the centenary of the battle of the Somme, Fromelles and Pozières. These include special Last Post Ceremonies occurring on the 1, 19 and 23 July. See their website for full details.
