Golf clubs in Canberra
Canberra’s Federal Golf Club provides a beautiful setting for 18 holes on luscious greens with a challenging layout. Set at the base of Red Hill, the views are amazing and the local kangaroos like to watch players stride by. Stop by the pro shop or grab a delicious meal at the restaurant, which overlooks the 18th green.
Capital Public Golf Club is a relaxing 18-hole course in Narrabundah, only minutes from the city. They offer plenty of social tee times, as well as a pro shop, driving range, pitch and putt, and mini golf.
Yowani Country Club is about 5 minutes’ drive from the city, with a gently undulating 18-hole golf course, accommodation, lawn bowling greens and a restaurant. Watch out for the ducks on the fairways!
The Murrumbidgee Country Club is located in Kambah, about 20 minutes’ drive south of Canberra’s city. The 18 holes are perfectly positioned beneath the magnificent Brindabella Mountains.
Gungahlin Lakes Golf and Community Club and Gold Creek Country Club are both in the northern part of Canberra, offering 18 holes set in gorgeous surrounds with excellent club amenities. While Magpies Golf Club in Holt has stunning views across the Murrumbidgee Valley.
Fairbairn Golf Club is close to the Canberra International Airport, offering 18 holes across both even and undulating grounds. Not far away, the RMC Golf Club is a 9-hole option for players of all skill levels set within the manicured grounds of the Royal Military College, Duntroon.
Royal Canberra Golf Club is a spectacular, 27-hole golf course surrounded by trees with stunning views of Lake Burley Griffin. Note that it is a private members’ club, so check reciprocal club eligibility on their website.

Just across the border and within walking distance of Queanbeyan’s CBD, you can enjoy a round at Queanbeyan Golf Club, with its tree-lined setting and fast greens. Drop by the clubhouse for great meals and happy hour.
Looking to play on one of New South Wales’ oldest courses? Try Yass Golf Club’s 18-hole course with its deceivingly challenging fairways. You can even visit some Canberra district wineries on your way to or from historic Yass.
Fun golf for novices
Head outdoors to the 36-hole Canberra-themed mini golf course at Yarralumla Play Station, where you can also ride the train or meet the animals in the petting zoo.
