Note: Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve is open, however the Nil Desperandum trail and the Koala Path remain closed for maintenance until further notice.

See koalas, kangaroos, birds, reptiles and more in the natural setting of Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, just 45 minutes drive from the Canberra CBD.

Keep an eye open for wandering wallabies and emus, and you may even catch a glimpse of an elusive platypus!

The kids will love the Nature Discovery Playground and you’ll love the idyllic picnic spots, BBQ areas and fresh open air.

There are 22 marked trails at Tidbinbilla – ranging from a 15 minute walk to full-day hikes. You can grab a map from the Visitors Centre or download it from our website.

Regular guided activities are on offer to visitors covering topics such as Australian plants, animals and habitats, wetlands and waterbirds at The Sanctuary and Aboriginal culture and heritage. School holidays are also a great time to visit with regular kids activities to keep the little ones busy!

Visitor Centre: 9am - 5pm; Reserve Grounds: 7.30am - 6pm; Daylight Savings: 7.30am - 8pm; Closed Christmas Day. Reserve may also be closed due to total fire bans or high winds

The park is not huge but there is so much to discover. It was beautiful to see swamp wallabies in their natural setting. We tried to see platypus but had no success we saw only the sculpture which...

People who live in Canberra are so lucky to have this beautiful nature reserve right on our doorstep. It is great to get out into nature and enjoy all the walks and see all the animals.
