The Treasures Gallery highlights the extraordinary holdings of the National Library of Australia. From maps and rare books to manuscripts, photographs, oil paintings and watercolours, this is where you will find many of the Library’s most unexpected and unique items. Be intrigued, surprised, challenged and amazed by the stories our treasures tell.
Their displays change regularly, so they have exciting new stories to share. They include a large display of material from the Edward ‘Koiki’ Mabo and Bryan Keon-Cohen collections to mark the 30th anniversary of the Mabo v Queensland (No. 2) decision, a display about Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee, and a special edition of 2014 Man Booker Prize winning novel The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Tasmanian author Richard Flanagan.
The Treasures Gallery is free and open every day, except Christmas Day and Good Friday.
The Library warmly thanks our Treasures Gallery supporters. Their generosity has made it possible to bring these treasures to life for the whole community.
