National Endangered Skills and Trades Show

  • National Endangered Skills and Trades Show
This event is by far Australia's biggest vocational heritage event. Horologists, saddlers, book binders, weavers, taxidermists, sound engineers, plasterers cobblers, stone masons, flint makers, bicycle builders and many more. These professions are not anachronisms but thriving business's using heritage skills in the digital world. While their skills may have been traditionally learned they are not producing quaint oldie world stuff. These guys are using their skills to make products for industry, prototypes and using their craft in such innovative ways, providing solutions for modern problems.

Traders will be demonstrating their work and some will be selling their wares. Every year new traders join the show looking for promising trainees. This is not a craft fair but a vocational fair with loads to see and learn about serious professions with mad skills!

Many are coming to the event as they are looking for new apprentices, meet them in person and talk about how you can learn a trade. In 2019 people popped in a for quick look and stayed for hours! This year there will be over 34 new professions.

Held at the Fitters workshop entry by Gold coin this event welcomes families, school groups and kids can even bring grandparents.
