Overview

'Absurd Frontier' is an exhibition by Nathan Hughes.

Hughes navigates the poignant absurdity of human folly and hydrocarbon hubris with wry humour and picaresque metafictions.

Through diverse materials and instinctive processes, 'Absurd Frontier' deals with loss, regeneration, and socio-ecological anxiety.

Figurative mixed media works fuse autobiography, Spaghetti Westerns and dystopian sci-fi in a fluid interplay of myth, mind, and screen.

The exhibition questions the moral implications of perception, and how we sustain agency and integrity amidst anthropogenic climate collapse.

‘Absurd Frontier’ will open alongside other exhibitions at M16 Artspace: ‘New Work’ by Martin Paull ‘CAPTCHA’ directed by Mathew Francis and ‘Cold Collations’ by Susan Chancellor.
