Overview

Wimbaliri is a small family owned and operated vineyard and winery with a passion for producing distinctive cool-climate wines. The vineyard sits at an altitude of 620m and is well positioned on a north-eastern slope overlooking a small valley with beautiful views, just three kilometres south of Murrumbateman village.

The soils of Wimbaliri are decomposed granite and gravels. Much of the vineyard is close-planted.

Scott is winemaker, born in Wallsend Newcastle, a 6th-generation descendant of German vinedressers who emigrated to the Hunter Valley in the 1850’s.

Sarah draws upon her science background to assist in the vineyard and winemaking process.

Wines produced:
Chardonnay; '35th Parallel'
Rosè; 'The Vinedresser'
Pinot Noir; 'Close-Planted Pinot Noir'
Shiraz; 'The Gravel Block' and Shiraz-Viognier
Cabernets; 'First Vines' Cabernet-Merlot, and Merlot-Cabernet
