Overview

Suki and Hugh Gallery will open an exhibition of paintings by local artists Peter Jordan and Sara Freeman.

The exhibition title ‘Regarding dreams as water moons’ references a poem by the Buddhist teacher Longchenpa (Tibet 1308-1364), reminding that ultimately everything is as ephemeral as a reflection of the moon in the water.

The exhibition features new works in egg tempera and wax by Freeman. The artist is well-known for her detailed and mesmerising works in this medium. She has previously spoken about her art practice as a restorative process where colour is used to purge or embrace emotion and the repetitive nature of mark-making becomes meditative and soothing.
