Overview

How well do you know Canberra's National Triangle? Did you know it was part of Marion Mahony Griffin and Walter Burley Griffins' plans for Canberra as part of the 1911 international design competition?

But why a triangle? And what will the Ngurra precinct be?

Find out from the guest speakers on this new tour that explains the stories behind many national collecting and cultural institutions, and other important buildings and structures along the route.

The tour starts outside the Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies on the Acton peninsular, and makes its way along the north side of the central basin, before finishing with a loop around Australia's Parliament House.

This tour covers buildings including: the AITSIS, National Museum, Carillon, National Gallery, High Court, Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Treasury, and the National Archives. Learn about gardens, sculptures, and more.
