The Canberra Times Marathon Festival
Ready to tick off a marathon? The Canberra Times Marathon Festival (10-12 April) offers everything from family fun runs to competitive ultra-marathons. Take in Canberra’s landmarks as you run past Lake Burley Griffin, Old Parliament House, and the National Triangle. Whether you’re chasing a PB or just soaking up the atmosphere, this is a must-do event.

Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink and Fun Run Pink
This women-focused triathlon (15 March) is all about fun and fitness. Featuring a pool swim and closed-road cycling, it’s perfect for beginners and seasoned athletes alike. Adults can compete solo or in relay teams, while kids aged 7–13 can join the junior events.

Challenge Canberra Triathlon
The Challenge Canberra Triathlon (22 November) returns with its flagship Challenge Canberra 100 race, featuring a 2 km swim in the calm waters off Black Mountain Peninsula, an 80 km bike leg on a fast four-lap course, and an 18 km run along scenic lakeside paths. This world-class event is a qualifier for the 2027 Multisport World Championships in Edmonton, Canada and also offers Olympic and Sprint distances, Aquabike options, and a fun Swim + Run Aquathlon for kids, making it a true celebration of endurance and community.

Five Peaks Challenge
The Five Peaks Challenge (19 April) is your ultimate personal cycling adventure, offering two route options of 83 km or 113 km, both featuring six iconic Canberra summits. Riders can tailor the experience by choosing as many or as few peaks as they like, with distances ranging from 57 km to the full 113 km, making it suitable for all fitness levels. Take on the ultimate mountain biking adventure with this 145 km self-guided loop. Ride through urban and rural landscapes, past iconic sites, swimming spots, and cafes. Complete it in one day if you’re hardcore—or break it into seven scenic sections.

Four urban summit walks
Mount Ainslie, Black Mountain, Red Hill, and Mount Taylor offer short, rewarding hikes with panoramic views. Perfect for a weekend fitness boost followed by a café brunch.

Lap of Lake Burley Griffin
