Merchant Campbell
Merchant Campbell
Overview
Merchant Campbell was opened with the purpose of sourcing and importing interesting and beautiful items from culturally rich and diverse countries throughout the world.
The store’s name comes from the owner’s forebear, the original Merchant Campbell, Robert Campbell, a Scot who in 1798 began importing goods from India for the fledgling colony of NSW.
People from regional NSW now have increased access to beautiful homewares, soft furnishings, jewellery and gifts. Most of the goods provided by Merchant Campbell are repurposed, vintage or handmade pieces, many of them one-offs.
Merchant Campbell provides interesting and highly desirable products made by artisans and craftsmen who care about their environment, their history and their traditions, with the skills and talents to make stunning products by hand.
Hand-selected, high-quality goods well designed furnishings are imported in containers from India and Bali, complimenting specially chosen items from purveyors and craftsmen around Australia.
