Overview

Blackwattle Alpaca Farm, the home of Blackwattle Yarn and Fibre is a working alpaca farm located in the lovely rural township of Murrumbateman. As a working alpaca farm, running a herd of 60 alpacas, mainly breeding females, they focus their breeding program on the advancement of fleece for fibre processing, whilst meeting the industry breed standards.

Their farm is located only 25 minutes from Canberra, making it an ideal location for a day trip with family and friends! Their farm offers picturesque views and is in a unique location to learn about alpacas, their luxury fibre and the beautiful products they produce.

They have a welcoming farm shop, filled with lots of hand-dyed yarn and a wide range of alpaca and llama-inspired gifts, and a cafe serving tea, coffee, cold drinks and sweet treats. They also offer picnics on their farm, catered from their cafe.

To meet their alpacas and llamas, or to book a picnic, guests need to book a tour.

Visit their alpaca farm and learn about alpacas and farm life. They hope to see you soon at Blackwattle Alpaca Farm!
