Overview

Founded in 1932, Canberra Repertory Society (REP) is one of the oldest established theatre companies in Australia, with more than 550 major productions to its credit. REP stages six major productions each year and provides Canberra theatregoers with high quality and varied works.

In addition to their major productions, REP Studio gives members the chance to take part in play readings or workshops. REP also offers opportunities for people to extend their interest in theatre and to develop their skills through participation in all aspects of theatre production. Many members who first developed their skills at REP have moved on to careers in professional theatre.

REP is based at and manages Canberra REP Theatre (formerly Theatre 3), a well-equipped professional theatre space with a seating capacity of 188 for its own use and for external hire.

Canberra REP is a not-for-profit organisation and is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) as a Charity. REP's corporate structure is as a Company Limited by Guarantee. Canberra REP has received endorsement as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) through the Australian Taxation Office.
