Overview

ACT Hub is the home of independent theatre in Canberra. ACT Hub is a collective of three award-winning theatre companies - Free-Rain, Chaika and Everyman Theatre - which together are activating the gorgeous heritage-listed Causeway Hall on the edge of Kingston and close to the popular Foreshore precinct.

ACT Hub, which was formed in October 2021, was the brainchild of Chris Baldock of Mockingbird Theatre, Jarred West of Everyman Theatre, Karen Vickery of Chaika Theatre and Anne Somes of Free-Rain Theatre.

Since 2022, ACT Hub has garnered critical acclaim for its productions, including multiple Canberra Critics Circle Awards. Their programming is creative and diverse, reflecting their wish to engage, stimulate, challenge and entertain their audiences on many different levels.

ACT Hub is Canberra's first venue dedicated solely to producing independent theatre. The ACT Hub team will bring patrons eight to ten plays per year from Australia and around the world, with the aim of telling great stories while utilising the talents of Canberra's best theatre practitioners.
