Overview

Celebrate the arrival of Spring and National Wattle Day with a variety of wattle-themed activities for everyone to enjoy.

Drop by Wattle Corner in the Visitors Centre to learn more about Australia's national floral emblem and how integral wattle is to Australia's story. Get hands-on with displays of wattle to touch, smell, and enjoy. Speak with experts for advice on how to grow and care for wattle in your own backyard.

Come on a Wattle Day walk: See more than ten types of beautiful wattles coming into bloom and hear stories about Australia's national floral emblem on this special one-hour guided Wattle Walk in the Southern Tablelands Ecosystem Park (STEP).

Grow your own wattle at home: Wattle seed collected from the National Arboretum Canberra's very own Golden Grove will be available to purchase from The Curatoreum. Each packet of Golden wattle (Acacia pycnantha) seed has enough to grow ten trees up to eight metres tall.

Treat yourself or a loved one to an assortment of wattle-styled gifts from The Curatoreum.

Enjoy the glow and scent of Australia's floral emblem in full bloom as you discover more about the significance, beauty, and uses of Australia's floral emblem.
