The Nutcracker In July

A Christmas tree covered in Aussie desserts opens to a winter wonderland silhouetting ballerinas.

Overview

Whisk away your winter blues with this ballet full of magic, mystery and Christmas spirit!

This event includes two Saturdays of ballet performances of The Nutcracker In July. Suitable for young families and lovers of ballet and theatre. Morning matinee shows have kids' activities during the interval, including a colouring-in competition sponsored by Dendy Cinemas Canberra, selfie stations, dress-up stations complete with real dance costumes, themed Nutcracker cookies and meet and greets with the principal dancers.

The wealth of experience from the choreographers is extensive, including the grand pas de deux between Clara and her Nutcracker, which was choreographed by Josef Brown, a famous Australian actor, dancer and choreographer! Adapted this year for two female dancers by Caitlin-Rae Crook, an ex-professional ballerina and contemporary dancer who toured extensively in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, China, the USA and Australia!
