Overview

Is there a budding bonsai artist in the family? Nurture their creativity and love for nature at the Children's Beginner Bonsai Workshops. This engaging and hands-on experience is perfect for young enthusiasts aged 8 - 16 years who are eager to learn the art of bonsai.

Each session will include:

An inspiring Guided Tour of the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia.
Hands-On Bonsai Creation under the guidance of educators.
Take Home your newly created bonsai, complete with a care guide to help nurture and grow your tree long after the workshop has ended.
Education and Fun as the experience fosters creativity and instils a sense of responsibility as children learn to care for their bonsai.

It's an excellent way for young minds to connect with nature and develop a lifelong appreciation for this ancient art form.

Good to know:
Bookings are essential as places are limited.
Accessible hand washing and toilet facilities are available in the Terrace Room.
If children are unwell, they ask that you please stay home.
Parents/carers can drop off and return for pick up or alternatively sit back and relax in the Arboretum Café.
