Gray Street Workshop is one of Australia's most renowned artist-run initiatives. Anne Brennan will speak about the challenges and pleasures of writing its history and the task of tracing the evolution of the work made for the unique, witty and poignant exhibition that celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the Workshop's establishment. She will then lead a lively discussion with Gray Street Workshop partners, Lisa Furno, Sue Lorraine and Catherine Truman about the way shared themes in the exhibition are articulated so differently by each artist, a cogent expression of how the group works – in their own words – 'separately together'.
