Overview

ACT Reconciliation Day 2026 is a free, family-friendly event bringing Canberrans together to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and contributions, while fostering understanding, truth-telling and connection.

The event will be held at John Dunmore Lang Place. Taking place on the ACT Reconciliation Day public holiday during National Reconciliation Week, the event is guided by the 2026 theme, All in, and encourages everyone to consider the role they can play in reconciliation.

Enjoy a vibrant program of music and dance performances, explore market stalls featuring local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, and grab a bite to eat.

You can also take part in fun and creative workshops, including learning Ngunnawal greetings and trying your hand at weaving using natural fibres.

ACT Reconciliation Day 2026 offers a relaxed and enjoyable day out. Free and open to everyone, it is a great opportunity to learn something new, spend time with family and friends, support local communities and take part in the journey towards reconciliation.
