Overview

Reconciliation Day is a chance for Canberrans to come together, reflect, and take meaningful steps toward a more inclusive future. This special day invites the community to engage in truth-telling, knowledge-sharing, and healing.

Come along to Commonwealth Park for a free, family-friendly event featuring live music, cultural performances, interactive workshops, and hands-on activities that honour the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

From energetic dance and music acts to storytelling, face painting, and zoo interactions, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Explore market stalls, grab a bite from local food vendors, and deepen your understanding of Indigenous traditions through engaging conversations and creative experiences. Don't miss the insightful panel discussions happening at the Speakers Marquee, where experts will engage in meaningful conversations about reconciliation and related topics.

This year's National Reconciliation Week theme, Bridging Now to Next, invites us to honour the past, act in the present, and build a better future. It's a call to continue the journey-drawing on the lessons of history to guide the way forward.
