Overview
Two women struggle for survival or dominance.
Are they monsters? Are they crazy? Or both?
In a small, rural cottage in Connemara County Galway, plain, middle-aged Maureen and her ageing, manipulative mother, Mag, live their isolated existence.
When it seems that Maureen might have her first, and probably last, romantic encounter, her mother does all she can to undermine and sabotage the relationship.
A darkly comic and at the same time devastating play, The Beauty Queen of Leenane explores the dark side of human nature and the malevolence of people living hopeless lives.
Written by Martin McDonagh.
Directed by Cate Clelland.
Presented by Free-Rain Theatre Company.
Running for only two weeks at ACT Hub, don't miss your chance to see this brilliant production of a play from one of Britain and Ireland's greatest living playwrights.
