Overview
Held at Canberra Museum and Gallery, this one-day forum features engaging presentations, panel discussions and performances by leading artists, designers and curators. Visitors will discover how visual artists like Sidney Nolan and Arthur Boyd shaped Australian stage design and how contemporary practitioners continue to innovate across disciplines.
Highlights include a live reading inspired by artist Joy Hester, insights into landmark collaborations such as The Rite of Spring, and behind-the-scenes stories from stage designers working across theatre, opera and dance. Visitors will hear from acclaimed artists including Dean Cross, Dale Ferguson and Dr Elizabeth Cameron Dalman AM.
The program also includes a curator-led tour of the Nolan Gallery, a networking reception, and access to exclusive experiences designed for lovers of visual art and performance.
This forum offers a rare opportunity to explore how creative practices have crossed boundaries, shaped national identity and continue to evolve in contemporary Australia.
