Overview

The Australian Haydn Ensemble (AHE) performs an historical chamber arrangement of Beethoven's Eighth Symphony - his beautiful tribute to Haydn - with just seven players.

In a time before recordings or radio, these chamber arrangements were the primary means by which music became popular.

Now you can hear just such an arrangement, made in Beethoven's era, sounding as close as we know to the way it was played in Beethoven's own time.

Hear this masterful composer in a whole new way - along with music by his friend and student Ferdinand Ries, Boccherini and a world premiere of a new work by Australian composer Ella Macens.
