Overview

Journey through the wetlands of Chile and Australia in this hands-on workshop celebrating 80 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Discover some of the most iconic species that call these wetlands home — from the migratory Latham's Snipe to the remarkable Atacama Toad.

The session begins with a short presentation on the vital role wetlands play in both countries' ecosystems and introduces a few of the fascinating species that inhabit them, along with the powerful stories they carry.

Participants will then bring these stories to life by creating their own wildlife paper toys. Choose from four Chilean and Australian animals to colour, cut, fold, and glue — and take your creations home as a reminder of the unique biodiversity that connects these distant lands.
