Murder, mystery, and small-town secrets – don't miss A L Booth's author talk!
Join Libraries ACT and author A L Booth for an evening of secrets, suspicion, and small-town shadows as she discusses her gripping new historical whodunnit, Death at Booroomba. Set in post-WWI Australia, the novel follows war veteran Jack O'Rourke, who inherits a rural property after saving a stranger's life—only to return years later and find that man brutally murdered. As Jack investigates, he uncovers a town full of secrets, rivalries, and hidden motives.
Booth will share insights into the inspiration behind the story, the historical backdrop of 1919 Australia, and the real-life echoes that shaped her characters. With twists, tension, and evocative storytelling, Death at Booroomba is a must-read for fans of mystery and historical fiction.
A L Booth is the author of eight novels, including Stillwater Creek, A Perfect Marriage, and The Philosopher's Daughters—all highly commended in ACT literary awards. An award-winning academic and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, she brings depth and authenticity to her fiction.
