Overview

Suki & Hugh Gallery is proud to present Quiet Witnesses, solo exhibition of new works by acclaimed botanical artist Sharon Field.

In Quiet Witnesses, Field invites you into an intimate and intricate world of leaves, lichens, and insects—organisms often overlooked in daily life yet increasingly vulnerable in the face of ecological disruption. With her signature precision and sensitivity, Field's finely detailed drawings and paintings do more than showcase natural beauty: they compel you to look more closely, feel more deeply, and reflect on what is quietly vanishing.

Sharon Field is an award-winning botanical artist based in Victoria. Her work has been exhibited and collected both in Australia and internationally. In 2025, her piece 3000 days … and counting … received a Special Commendation from the ASBA Vision Prize, awarded by the American Society of Botanical Artists (New York, USA). In 2021, she won the Madeleine Taylor Highly Commended Award at the BASA Flora – the art and science of the plant exhibition in Hobart, Tasmania.
