Overview
The Queanbeyan Hive invites visitors to experience a weekend of creativity, music, and community in the heart of Queanbeyan during this year's Arts Trail. The gallery, garden, and outdoor pergola will be transformed into an interactive creative hub, offering opportunities to explore, make, and connect.
Visitors can enjoy live music by the Suzie So Blue Trio and explore Real & Imagined, an exhibition by artists Ingrid Ferguson and Lea Palij, whose works together create a dialogue between memory and vision, flora and form, reality and reimagination. A diverse makers market and demonstration program includes leatherworking, silversmithing, crochet, weaving, soap making, and sourdough baking, alongside cultural workshops with local and regional artists.
The Hive's community mural project, led by Helen Gibson, invites visitors to contribute to an evolving artwork that celebrates creativity and collaboration. Local food and drinks will be available throughout the weekend, including wood-fired pizzas from Embrace Disability Group and refreshments from the Create Collaborate Collective fundraising bar.
Arts Trail at The Queanbeyan Hive offers a unique combination of art, participation, and heritage charm. It provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for visitors to discover local talent, learn new skills, and experience Queanbeyan's vibrant creative culture.
