Overview
Step into 1920s Sydney with Fatty Finn, a charming silent film featuring six-year-old Robin 'Pop' Ordell as the spirited Fatty. With his loyal pet goat Hector, Fatty takes on his rival Bruiser in a thrilling billy-cart race through the working-class streets. Shot in 1927, this endearing tale was Australia's first major children's feature film, now preserved by the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA). Its timeless appeal lies in its easygoing characters and universally relatable story, continuing to delight audiences nearly a century later.
This special screening will be accompanied by a live performance from CJ Shaw and the All Sorts, bringing fresh energy to the classic film with original music.
