Overview

Join Canberra Writers Festival and author Lisa Wilkinson AM for a special event focused on her new novel, The Titanic Story of Evelyn.

Exhaustively researched and beautifully written, Wilkinson's first work of historical non-fiction uncovers Evelyn's remarkable and uniquely Australian journey.

Lisa Wilkinson will appear in conversation with Amy Remeikis, where she shares the powerful story of a courageous woman whose legacy deserves to be remembered.

An epic and untold true story. The Titanic Story of Evelyn reveals the extraordinary life of Evelyn Marsden, a brave Australian nurse and the only Australian-born survivor of the Titanic disaster. Through Evelyn's eyes, this unforgettable story captures both the best and worst of humanity on one of the most tragic nights in modern history. Lisa Wilkinson AM is one of Australia's most well-known, admired and respected media identities. An early groundbreaking publishing career, Lisa was the youngest ever editor of a national magazine, Dolly, at the age of 21.

Fees apply for all tickets. For more bookings and information, please visit the National Library of Australia website.

Book signings will be available in the Library foyer following the discussion.

This event is in partnership with Canberra Writers Festival.
