Historic Gundagai Bakery




Overview
The Historic Gundagai Bakery is believed to be the oldest working bakery in Australia. In 1864 German immigrant and baker, William Bibo, built and opened the bakery and became a successful businessman and citizen who later became Mayor of the town.
In 1976 enthusiastic Gundagai residents rallied following the threatened closure of the bakery. Fifty locals became shareholders in a new company that purchased the business and premises.
For the past 23 years, John Catling has been Lessee and supplying the Riverina with Little John's pies and a variety of cakes, slices, sandwiches and coffee. It's a great friendly place to have a bite to eat for all the family
Present baker, John Catling, is renowned for his pies and sausage rolls. The famous Little John's Pies, have won awards. With delicious cakes, slices and sandwiches it would be hard to go past!
