Hold Fast Distillery
Hold Fast Distillery
Overview
Nestled behind the historic Trooper's Rest in Braidwood, a building constructed in 1840, Hold Fast Distillery offers an immersive experience in the art of Australian spirit making. Visitors can explore a working distillery where whisky, gin and liqueurs are crafted in small batches using traditional techniques and locally sourced botanicals. Each spirit captures the essence of the surrounding landscape, featuring distinctive flavours such as wattle seed, pepperberry, strawberry gum and finger lime.
Guests can participate in a unique gin school experience, choosing botanicals and distilling a personalised bottle to take home. The cellar door provides guided tastings and insight into the meticulous distilling process, showcasing the craftsmanship that defines the brand.
Steeped in maritime heritage and inspired by the founder's naval background, Hold Fast Distillery combines precision, tradition and storytelling to create spirits of exceptional character. The setting within a restored 19th-century site enhances the sense of history, offering visitors a genuine connection between place and flavour. Hold Fast Distillery stands as a celebration of Australian innovation and craftsmanship, inviting guests to taste the spirit of Braidwood.
