The Link, Ginninderry
Overview
The Link Artspace provides exhibitions by community groups and early career artists. Exhibition programs focus on providing for a diversity of artists, and arts practises.
The Link building and its surrounding area will increasingly be dedicated as a venue for markets, fetes and festivals as well as performing and creative arts programs. It provides an entry point and visitor centre for the conservation corridor which runs along the Murrumbidgee River providing nature conservation, recreational, educational, tourism, scientific, cultural and other community benefits.
The Link exhibition program regularly collaborates with the Ginninderry Conservation Trust – in this capacity the Link exhibition space provides a centre for a diverse program of walks and environmental education, bringing regular locals and tourists. The arts experience extends and amplifies regional destination hubs including Strathnairn Arts, Strathnairn SHOP, Stepping Stone Café and the Murrumbidgee River corridor). The Link will ultimately become a centre for the local community to use and enjoy. ArtsACT have an executive lease over the site, with Strathnairn one of their public art facilities.
The Link Artspace is a low-cost exhibition space for the ACT. Hire fees are well below comparable spaces throughout the ACT (less than AUD25 per week for a 5-6 week exhibition). Art sales commission fees are also comparatively low (15 percent).
The Link offers e-bike hire, which is free for the first two hours.
