Rug up for a wintery experience in the oak forest on one of Canberra's few truffle farms, and you'll be rewarded with the jewels of the kitchen: truffles. Follow their team of highly trained (and super friendly) truffle dogs as they sniff out prized black truffles. These exceptionally talented dogs roam amongst the 3,000 trees on the farm to find a piece of the 'black magic'.
Once the perfect truffle is found, head back into the warmth of the truffle shed to discover the secrets to using this highly prized delicacy. After the hunt, the chef will prepare an exciting array of decadent dishes with matching local wines for you to try. Let the cooking demonstration inspire you to purchase your own truffle and begin creating magic at home.
The truffle tours run during winter from early May to September. Weekend hunts often sell out so book early to ensure your spot.
