National Arboretum Canberra Guided Forest Walks
National Arboretum Canberra Guided Forest Walks
Overview
The National Arboretum Canberra is one of Canberra's premier tourism attractions. Featuring some of Canberra's best panoramic views, stunning architecture, themed, landscaped gardens and over 40,000 rare, endangered and culturally significant trees, it's no wonder over one million visitors pass through the gates each year.
With added attractions such as the National Bonsai & Penjing Collection of Australia, the much-loved POD playground, the National Rock Garden and the Forest Sculpture Gallery and a regional botanic garden, there is so much to see and do!
To understand the significance of the Arboretum and to learn about the trees, join knowledgeable volunteer guides for a walking tour through the ever-changing forests. With over 20 kilometres of multipurpose trails weaving through a mosaic of 97 individual forests, tour themes and departure times are tailored to the season, ensuring you experience the forests at their most spectacular.
Please note:
Most guided tours take place on dirt trails and may have uneven terrain. Please contact the arboretum to discuss how they can adapt a tour for accessibility options.
Bring a hat, drinking water, sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
Recommended for ages 12 and over (with an accompanying adult).
Bookings are required.
