Overview

This one-hour tour is a unique garden history and heritage excursion through Canberra's most significant environment heritage site, at the English Garden, Weston Park Yarralumla ACT. It explains the legacy of Thomas Charles George (1866-1935) who transformed the landscape of the National Capital and Region. The tour showcases the remarkable trees and shrubs within the English Garden site, together with their botanical background and cultural histories. Some global environmental issues are also noted from a Rotary perspective. Suitable for schools and colleges as well as the general public
