Exploring Murrumbateman by E-bike

The Vintner’s Daughter, nestled in the picturesque village of Murrumbateman, is renowned for exceptional wine making, a maze of native plantings in their thriving vineyard, and a menagerie of animals including rare Babydoll sheep that graze throughout the vines.

Now they’re proud to add e-bike hires to their boutique offering. Building on the region’s reputation as a cycling-friendly destination, the new experience invites visitors to travel the Murrumbateman Winery Trail, a purpose-built path connecting local wineries and businesses throughout the Canberra Wine District, at their own pace.

Steph Helm, winemaker and co-owner of The Vintner’s Daughter says “As a local, I love supporting our small businesses, and exploring them by e-bike makes me feel like I’m on holiday too. Riding gives you the time to truly take in the countryside, noticing the little things you’d miss by car, like fairy wrens darting through the bushes, ducks gliding across dams, and kangaroos resting in the paddocks.”

“What makes these venues so special is that they are all locally owned and family-run. You’ll often find yourself meeting the maker or producer behind the counter, and experiencing first-hand the passion that defines this region, whether it’s in the winemaking, chocolate making, baking, or the production of food and fibre.”

Here are Steph’s suggestion for what a day on the e-bike can look like.
