Beltana Farm

At Beltana Farm, choose between two immersive truffle hunt options:

Hunt & Taste – An early morning hunt followed by a guided small snack tasting.

Hunt & Lunch – A late-morning hunt that flows into a specially curated truffle-infused lunch.

If you're after something a bit different, try their Twilight Hunt & BBQ. Head out as the sun sets, then gather around the fire with a glass of wine and some truffle snacks straight from the outdoor BBQ.

Prefer to skip the hunt? Settle in for a rustic, elevated farm-style shared menu at Beltana Farm Dining. Extend your stay by booking one of Beltana Farm's luxury yurts and enjoy countryside serenity, complete with tennis, cycling trails, and a meet-and-greet with Drake, the farm’s beloved truffle dog.

The Truffle Farm

For the quintessential truffle experience, look no further than The Truffle Farm which is only a 15 minute drive from the city centre. Join the owner of the farm and the enthusiastic truffle dogs to unearth these prized possessions.

After the hunt, indulge in a gourmet meal prepared by the executive chef, who’ll also share expert tips on how to cook with truffles at home. It’s a hands-on, heartwarming experience that you won’t forget.

Food at Raku restaurant

RAKU

For a refined twist on truffle, head to RAKU in the Canberra Centre. This sleek Japanese eatery offers a front-row seat to the action with the option for bar-style seating overlooking the open kitchen. Their truffle dishes are a must-try, including New Zealand scampi with foie gras, truffle oil, soy jelly, and Tajima wagyu gyoza with truffle oil, white ponzu, pickled mustard seed, and sesame.

Contentious Character

Step into a truffle heaven at Contentious Character's urban winery in the Dairy Road Precinct, Fyshwick for the Annual Winemaker Truffle Dinner. This five-course truffle degustation is a masterclass in indulgence, with optional wine pairings that elevate every bite. This year’s menu features fresh local truffles from Blue Frog Truffles—renowned for their deep, earthy flavour thanks to the region’s volcanic soil.

Make way for the Tajima MB4+ wagyu scotch fillet (250g) with merlot truffle jus, accompanied by truffle mashed potato and burnt onion that melts in your mouth. Tickets are limited, so book early and come hungry.

Three people tasting wine

Mount Majura Vineyard

Pair truffle with a perfect pour at Mount Majura Vineyard. Neighbour Jayson from The Truffle Farm provides the freshest truffles, infusing them into a luxuriously rich triple-cream brie-style cheese for the vineyard’s Truffle infused winter tastings all season. They’ll pour a flight of three 80ml glasses matched to the truffled brie which includes the 2012 Late Disgorged Silurian Sparkling as well as pulling a red from their cellar for the experience. Online bookings are essential and close the day prior.

Blue Frog Truffle Farm

Blue Frog Truffle Farm

Just outside of Canberra, nestled near the Federal Highway, you’ll find Blue Frog Truffle Farm, a family-run truffière that has been cultivating premium black truffles since 2007. There are truffle hunts every Sunday from mid-June to mid-August, a rare opportunity to experience the magic of truffle hunting firsthand, guided by passionate producers and their expertly trained dogs.

Winter Market: Truffles, Wine, and Artisan Goods

Celebrate the season's bounty at Winter Market at Dairy Road (26 July). This chef’s market is a haven for food lovers, featuring premium cold-climate produce like truffles, wine, garlic, olives, and more. Wander through a vibrant garden of farmer’s stalls, sip your way through the Cellar Door wine market inside The Vault, and discover rare, regional delicacies direct from the source.
